Responsibilities:

• Project Analysis and Cost Estimating:

o Analyze project documents like tender documents, drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and specifications to understand the MEP scope.

o Estimate costs for MEP materials (electrical wiring, HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures), labor (installation, testing), and equipment rentals.

o Consider project location, market conditions, and subcontractor quotes to refine cost estimates.

o Utilize cost-estimating software specifically suited for MEP projects.

• Tendering and Bidding:

o Prepare bid packages with cost estimates for MEP works to be submitted for tenders.

o Assist in evaluating bids from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring they align with project requirements and budget.

• Budgeting and Cost Management.

o Develop detailed cost breakdowns for MEP aspects of the project, ensuring all elements are accounted for.

o Identify potential cost risks associated with MEP systems and recommend mitigation strategies to stay within budget.

o Monitor project progress and compare actual costs to estimates, identifying and addressing cost variances for MEP works.

• Communication and Collaboration.

o Collaborate with MEP engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to understand project scope and complexities specific to MEP systems.

o Clearly communicate cost estimates and budget proposals to stakeholders involved in the project.

o May participate in pre-tender meetings and site visits to gain a deeper understanding of the project for accurate cost estimations.

Requirements:

• Education. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in MEP estimation or a related field (e.g., construction cost estimating).

Skills:

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o In-depth understanding of MEP systems, materials, and their costs.

o Proficiency in cost-estimating software for MEP projects.

o Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

o Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

o Good knowledge of MS Office (Microsoft Excel) /primavera & AUTOCAD

• Knowledge:

o Working knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations for MEP systems.

o Familiarity with construction project management principles.

Additional Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for MEP projects.

• Knowledge of relevant national or international standards for MEP installations.
