• Project Analysis and Cost Estimating:
o Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications from civil engineers and architects.
o Estimate costs for materials (concrete, steel, etc.), labor (wages, benefits), and equipment (rental, operation)
o Factor in the project location, market conditions, and subcontractor quotes to refine cost estimates.
o Utilize cost-estimating software to streamline calculations and data analysis.
• Budgeting and Cost Management:
o Develop detailed cost breakdowns for project phases, ensuring all aspects are accounted for.
o Identify potential cost risks and recommend mitigation strategies to stay within budget.
o Monitor project progress and compare actual costs to estimates, identifying and addressing variances
Requirements:
• Education. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in civil engineering estimation or a related field.
• Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
o Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., RS Means, CostX)
o Effective communication and collaboration skills.
o Good knowledge of MS Office (Microsoft Excel) /primavera & AUTOCAD.
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
