1-Estimation Engineer (MEP & Fire protection)

Responsibilities:

1. Review project design drawings, specifications, and requirements to understand the scope of work.

2. Carryout design and calculations for the fire protection systems not limited to water based sprinkler system, Hose system, External Fire Hydrant Network, CO2, Fm200, Novec1230, Foam systems etc.

3. Conduct thorough analysis and assessments of project documents to determine material, labour, and equipment costs.

4. Working knowledge of the relevant industrial codes and standards.

5. Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather necessary information for system design and estimation.

6. Develop detailed design drawings and installation packages using CAD software.

7. Collaborate with internal teams including project managers, engineers, site teams and procurement to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.

8. Utilize estimating tools and techniques to prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals.

9. Prepare and present estimation reports, including breakdowns of costs and timelines to management.

10. Continuously update and maintain a database of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors to enhance the accuracy of future estimates.

11. Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative solutions during the estimation process.

12. Participate in meetings and discussions to provide insights and recommendations regarding cost estimation strategies.

13. Follow-up with client on the proposal submitted and arrange meeting with client if necessary.

14. Ensure that all estimates comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Engineering/ Construction Management, or related field.

2. Proven experience of 5 years working as a Design & Estimation Engineer or in a similar role within the Fire Protection sector.

3. Proficiency in using design & estimation software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCad etc.).

4. Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

7. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, codes, and standards related to estimating.

8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

9. Adaptability to changing project requirements and deadlines.

10. Certification or additional training in designing & cost estimation (preferred).
