Job description

The Planning Engineer is part of the shared services team and will be providing all necessary assistance to the construction supervision team concerning all planning and scheduling issues and progress of the works in order to complete the work within the time frame and matching with the approved budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand work scope, quantity and familiar with logical sequence in terms of engineering, manufacturing, and construction disciplines.

• Understand use of planning tools such as but not limited to MS Excel, MS project, Primavera.

• Develop and implement plan versus actual progress charts (histograms/S curves), reports and analysis deviations from plan.

• Performs probabilistic analysis of site plan potential completion of project, progress, alternatives, expected deviation of ranges, risk, and forecast progress for all site activities.

• Develop work resources method and statement on base of strategical applications.

• Understand contractual matter, earn value method, change control, incorporate of gathered information and familiarization of management scope and scheduling of breakdown structure plan.

• Prepare cost estimation, schedule of bar chart, inputs and outputs, availability, deliberation, allocation of manpower, equipment and materials and construction sequences.

• Prepare Extension of Time Claims and delay analysis.

• Estimate the required manpower & monitoring the actual manpower.

• Maintain records for all variations and additional work of the project.

• Attending client progress meetings.

• Prepare dashboards and reports.

• Review and monitor subcontractors' programs and reports.

• Monitor submission and approval of subcontractors, materials, and drawings.

• Prepare Periodic Material Procurement Schedule considering long lead time.

• Prepare and submit periodic and ad hoc reports to Management and Client.

• Prepare and deliver required presentations as per instructions from the management.

• Update Project Registers (Procurement, Subcontract, Document & Drawings)

• Identify risks and critical activities and recommend corrective solutions.

• active participation in the relevant operational and executive meetings is expected.

• Undergoes regular performance appraisal and evaluation.

• Undertake any other ad hoc duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar technical qualification.

• Minimum 6 years relevant experience in Construction Projects, (preferably in real estate projects).

• Experience and demonstrated skill in performing, monitoring, reviewing, and presenting project planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, and schedule analysis, with demonstrated skill in establishing criteria, planning, and supervising project scheduling activities.

• Excellent knowledge of productivity analysis and resource calculation.

• Proficiency in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management P6 and Primavera Contract Management I Expedition) and cost engineering.

• Proficiency in related software such as Power BI.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Strong understanding of engineering terminology.

• Ability to work with different teams.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
