Position Overview
The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects. This role involves analyzing project requirements, interpreting technical drawings, and collaborating with various departments to ensure that estimates reflect all necessary costs and resources. The Estimation Engineer plays a crucial role in helping the company secure contracts and manage project costs effectively.
Key Responsibilities
• Cost Estimation:
o Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
o Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and project requirements.
• Bid Preparation:
o Develop competitive bids and proposals by compiling comprehensive estimates.
o Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for bid preparation.
• Project Analysis:
o Conduct risk assessments and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
o Evaluate historical data and trends to improve the accuracy of future estimates.
• Collaboration:
o Work closely with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to gather accurate and up-to-date information.
o Liaise with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices and ensure the completeness of estimates.
• Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain organized records of estimates, bid documents, and correspondence.
o Prepare detailed reports and summaries of estimated costs for management review.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to enhance estimation accuracy.
o Participate in post-project reviews to analyze actual costs versus estimates and implement lessons learned.
Qualifications
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in the [KSA, UAE, Middle East, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical Industry.].
o Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., CostX, PlanSwift, etc.).
• Skills:
o Strong analytical and numerical skills.
o Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
o Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Certifications:
o Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A), Project Management Professional (PMP), etc.) are a plus.
Work Environment
• Location:
o [Jubail, KSA]
• Working Conditions:
o Office-based with occasional site visits as required.
o Standard working hours, 8 hrs, 6 days a week
