The HSE Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance at an organization. They ensure that the company is adhering to all relevant local, regional, and national regulations and industry best practices. The HSE Inspector conducts audits, investigates incidents, and makes recommendations to improve HSE performance.
*Key Responsibilities:*
- Conduct routine and unannounced inspections of the workplace, facilities, equipment, and employee practices to identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards
- Review and audit the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Provide training and guidance to employees on HSE protocols and best practices
- Monitor compliance with applicable HSE regulations, standards, and company policies
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement HSE improvement plans
- Stay up-to-date on changes to HSE legislation and industry standards
*Required Qualifications:*
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineer or a related field
- Certified as an HSE inspector or auditor (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent certification)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an HSE inspection or compliance role
- Strong understanding of relevant local, regional, and national HSE regulations and standards
- Proficient in identifying and assessing health, safety, and environmental risks
- Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
