Job Description: Senior Planning Engineer
Department: Engineering/Project Management
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Engineer with a minimum of 10 years in the planning and management of road, bridge, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools, alongside a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones.
Resource Management: Identify and allocate resources effectively, coordinating with project teams to optimize labor, materials, and equipment.
Risk Analysis: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential project delays and cost overruns.
Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, providing regular updates and forecasts to ensure financial targets are met.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports, including progress updates, schedule variances, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements throughout project execution.
Change Management: Manage and document changes to project scope and schedules, assessing their impact on timelines and budgets.
Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planning engineers and team members.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling for road, bridge, and infrastructure projects.
Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and experience with cost estimation and project management tools.
Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of construction methodologies, contract management, and project lifecycle.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with occasional site visits.
May require extended hours to meet project deadlines.
