Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our power project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure in power generation projects such as power plants, substations, and transmission lines. The role involves working closely with other engineering teams and contractors to ensure that the civil components of the project are completed on time, within budget, and according to required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Planning:

o Prepare detailed designs for civil works, including foundations, buildings, drainage systems, and roads associated with the power project.

o Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to ensure project plans are based on sound engineering principles.

o Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and other team members to ensure that the civil design supports the electrical infrastructure requirements.

• Project Management:

o Manage day-to-day civil engineering tasks throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to completion.

o Monitor the progress of civil works to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

o Develop and review project timelines and work schedules for civil works, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.

• Construction Supervision:

o Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring that the civil works are performed in accordance with project specifications and industry best practices.

o Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

o Address and resolve any design or construction issues that arise during the project.

• Cost Control:

o Prepare and review cost estimates for civil engineering aspects of the power project.

o Manage the civil engineering budget, ensuring that the project stays within financial limits.

o Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

• Quality Assurance:

o Ensure that the civil works are carried out according to the highest standards of quality.

o Perform regular inspections of civil works, identify issues, and provide recommendations for improvement.

o Maintain accurate records of construction activities, quality tests, and materials used.

• Liaison and Coordination:

o Coordinate with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and environmental requirements.

o Work with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

o Provide technical support to other project teams as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

• 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably within the power generation or energy sector.

• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, or equivalent.

• Knowledge of relevant building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

• Strong project management and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and under pressure.

• Experience in power plant construction and/or large infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

• Valid engineering license or certification (preferred)
