OSP Engineer (Fiber Project Exp.)

Description:

• Responsible for the Inspection of the on-going Project like trenching, installation of manhole and hand hole, conduit, laying of cables, cabinet base and report in details as per the client specification and guidelines to meet the standard

• Preparing for the report base on the site survey in actual implementation result of the Project to be submitted in accordance with the client specification and guidelines, ordering of materials base on Approved Plan and Red Lines as per BOQ, Implement the project and dealing with one or more sub-contractor as per client standard and specifications

• Carry out site survey along with the construction team to validate feasibility and update the revised routes.

• End-to-end responsibility of deploying the project and delivering value to the customer.

• Hands on experience in reviewing fiber test results, propose solutions and ensure fiber quality.

• Hands on Experience in operation and maintenance of live fiber optic network.

• Managing subcontractors and following up on daily and weekly progress with the implementation teams

• Coordinating with store with material supply and forecasts of deployment, Health and safety requirement

• Supervision of projects including monitoring the number of staff, machinery and material issues on site

• OSP works supervision in excavation, cable blowing, duct laying, installing manholes/handholes, restoration and civil works

• Joint survey of site with client & subcontractors for base line drawing and implementation, redline drawing and as built

• Conducting civil PAT, including Mandrel Test, and checking other installation like Main Hole, Mini Main Hole, HH, and Marker Posts according to specified standard, Fiber cable blowing, splicing &Testing with OTDR, Power meter, PMD/CD

• Document existing route / modifications for fiber optic cable to determine follow-on testing requirements and reflecting data on drawings.

• Report all OSP issues, plans, quantities, and suggestions etc.

• Coordinate new planned routes with Site manager for Environmental impacts, other base project impacts, contaminated soils, areas to avoid, etc.

• Documents redline changes to engineering drawings.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Fluency in English and Arabic both spoken and written.

• Technical expertise on OSP construction, cabling, and infrastructure pathway installation projects. Experienced in surveying facilities and developing site specific schematics, Fiber joint schematics, bill of materials, and subsequent construction drawings

• To include 3-5 years of related engineering experience

• OSP Skills and Equipment experience

• Experience analyzing base maps/plan drawings, building floor plan diagrams/sketches , engineering drawings, and technical specifications to plan installation activities.

• Expert level in MS Office, Auto-cad., Google earth, Visio…etc.
