We are seeking a highly skilled Site Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in construction projects, specializing in Plumbing, Fire Fighting Systems, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) works. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of ASHRAE, the International Plumbing Code (IPC), and NFPA standards, along with practical experience in managing the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems on large construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Management and Supervision:
o Oversee the installation of all mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and fire fighting systems on-site, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and relevant codes.
o Ensure that installation teams adhere to safety protocols and engineering standards.
2. Design and Installation Monitoring:
o Coordinate with design teams to ensure the correct implementation of plumbing, fire fighting, and HVAC designs.
o Supervise contractors and subcontractors, ensuring all work is performed as per approved designs and specifications.
3. Compliance with Standards:
o Ensure compliance with ASHRAE guidelines for HVAC systems, International Plumbing Code (IPC) for plumbing installations, and NFPA standards for fire fighting systems.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of any changes in local or international codes and regulations.
4. Quality Assurance & Inspections:
o Conduct regular inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to technical specifications.
o Address any issues or deviations from plans and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
5. Coordination and Communication:
o Liaise with other engineering disciplines (electrical, structural, civil) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
o Report on progress and issues to senior project engineers, ensuring that project timelines and budgets are adhered to.
6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover:
o Supervise the testing and commissioning of all mechanical systems, ensuring systems are fully functional and meet design criteria.
o Ensure that all necessary documentation for system handover, including test reports and certificates, is completed.
7. Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure all work on-site follows local and international safety standards.
o Monitor site safety and enforce the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe work practices.
Qualifications:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering .
• Experience:
o At least 4-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
o Strong experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, and firefighting systems installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
o Familiarity with managing large-scale construction projects.
