Basic Role
The Quality Engineer's primary role is to provide technical support and direction for all quality activities, including reporting, carried out by the CONTRACTOR’s Inspectors for COMPANY’s projects.
Scope
The Engineer will ensure that all CONTRACTOR’s Quality Management activities and reports comply with WER Quality requirements, utilizing a solid understanding of COMPANY engineering requirements, standards, procedures, specifications, and Schedule "Q" of the project's Construction Contractors' contract.
The Engineer will provide specialized training to others as needed.
Duties may involve physical exertion, working outdoors, confined spaces, high elevations, and remote locations (both onshore and offshore).
Principal Duties
Support all aspects of Quality Management, including Inspection.
Provide technical support to Purchasing and Project Management in resolving issues related to inspection methods and procedures for completing work in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Stay updated on the latest developments in inspection standards, codes, practices, procedures, methods, and inspection equipment.
Ensure that all work is completed according to applicable codes and standards and in line with WER quality and inspection requirements.
Review and evaluate CONTRACTOR's quality assurance/quality control systems as necessary, ensuring that Inspection Records (both hard copy and electronic databases) are compiled and maintained.
Perform root cause analysis, assessments, and recommend short- or long-term solutions.
Frequently visit construction sites to resolve inspection-related issues or evaluate the adequacy of inspection services provided.
