A Civil Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects on-site, ensuring that they are executed according to design plans, specifications, and timelines while maintaining quality and safety standards. This role involves coordination with various teams, problem-solving, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
Supervise and manage daily site operations and activities.
Monitor the progress of construction work to ensure timely completion.
Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules and reports.
2. Technical Supervision:
Interpret and implement construction designs, drawings, and plans.
Ensure the use of proper construction techniques, materials, and resources.
Conduct quality checks on work and materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
3. Health & Safety Compliance:
Enforce site safety standards and protocols.
Conduct site inspections to identify and mitigate risks or hazards.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
4. Team Coordination:
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers.
Supervise and provide guidance to site workers and subcontractors.
Address and resolve on-site technical issues and challenges.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of construction progress, delays, and variations.
Prepare site reports, work schedules, and material requisitions.
Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders for updates.
6. Cost Control:
Monitor and manage project budgets and expenditures.
Ensure optimal use of resources to minimize waste and control costs.
Approve invoices and handle procurement processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in site engineering or construction management.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
