safety engineer

qualification:
bachelor's degree/diploma in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field
minimum 6+ years gulf experience
certifications:
nebosh international general certificate (igc) or equivalent (required).
osha certification (e.g., osha 30-hour construction or general industry) (preferred).
first aid and cpr certification (required).
any additional certifications in safety management or engineering are a plus (e.g., iso 45001 lead auditor).
proven experience as a safety engineer or in a similar safety management role.
in-depth knowledge of local and international safety regulations, safety standards, and procedures.
strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present safety data and recommendations clearly.
analytical thinking with excellent problem-solving abilities.
proficiency in safety management software and tools.
key responsibilities:
assess and identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions to minimize risks.
develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure adherence to local regulations and industry standards.
conduct risk assessments and safety audits across various sites and departments.
monitor and report on safety performance, providing detailed analyses and recommending improvements.
deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees at all levels.
lead investigations into accidents or near-misses, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
collaborate with managers and staff to create a culture of safety, including the promotion of safe work practices.
maintain records of safety inspections, audits, incident reports, and safety statistics.
ensure that all equipment and machinery meet safety standards and are maintained in good working order.
stay up-to-date with the latest developments in health and safety regulations and best practices.
