Job Title: Fiber Optic Project Supervisor
Job Summary:
Oversee and manage the installation of fiber optic networks, including HDPE duct systems, micro-trenching, handholes, manholes, and cable laying. Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations for telecom and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise the installation of fiber optic cables, ducts, and conduits using trenching, micro-trenching, and HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling).
• Oversee the installation of handholes, manholes, and marking plates.
• Ensure proper cable pulling, splicing, and termination per project specifications.
• Coordinate with teams for backfilling, milling, paving, and reinstatement of road surfaces.
• Enforce safety and risk management protocols on-site.
• Manage field crews, subcontractors, and ensure work aligns with project plans.
• Communicate with clients, engineers, and procurement teams to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Maintain daily reports, quality inspections, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Telecom, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in fiber optic network deployment.
• Strong knowledge of HDPE ducting, trenching, fiber splicing, and testing.
• Familiarity with OTDR, power meters, and fiber optic testing equipment.
• Certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA, Fiber Optic Technician - FOA, PMP) preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD (preferred), and project tracking tools.
