Job Purpose:
To supervise and execute all site activities related to cable pulling, termination, testing, and installation of distribution boards, panels, and switchgears, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cable Works:
• Supervise and guide the team for cable pulling, laying in trenches, trays, and conduits.
• Ensure proper bending radius, support spacing, and routing according to drawings.
• Manage cable dressing, identification tags, and routing labels.
2. Cable Termination & Jointing:
• Perform and supervise termination of LV, MV, and control cables (copper/aluminum).
• Ensure gland selection, lug crimping, insulation taping, and phasing are done as per standards.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for cable megger testing and continuity checks.
3. Panel & Switchgear Installation:
• Supervise the installation of:
• MDBs, SMDBs, Final DBs
• Switchgears and MCCs
• Align and level electrical panels, verify busbar torqueing, and ensure earthing is connected.
4. Testing & Commissioning Support:
• Coordinate insulation resistance tests, earth continuity, and voltage drop checks.
• Assist engineers in pre-commissioning and energization of systems.
• Maintain records of test results and punch list clearance.
5. Safety & Supervision:
• Ensure the team follows electrical safety procedures and PPE use.
• Conduct toolbox talks and enforce LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) when required.
• Supervise manpower, tools, and materials handling at the site.
Qualifications:
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in electrical field works, especially in cable installations and panel/switchgear setups.
• Knowledge of IEC, NEC, and local standards (e.g., SCECO, ARAMCO, SABIC specs).
Skills Required:
• Strong technical knowledge in cable specs, DB/Switchgear wiring, and LV/MV systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and cable schedules.
• Good leadership and communication skills with multi-national site teams.
• Familiar with testing instruments like megger, clamp meter, and phase rotation meter.
