Job Title: Mechanical CAD Designer – Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

________________________________________Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical CAD Designer to support the design and detailing of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for sewage lifting stations, pipelines, chambers, HVAC systems, and pipe support structures. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, and working knowledge of Autodesk Revit will be considered a significant advantage, especially for BIM-enabled projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise Mechanical layout drawings for pump stations, transmission pipelines, valve/flow meter chambers, and mechanical rooms.

• Develop GA drawings, isometric views, fabrication drawings, and assembly details, Pipe and Valve supports drawings, BOQ, for piping systems, valves, supports, and HVAC installations.

• Model mechanical systems in 2D/3D CAD software; use Revit for BIM coordination and clash detection where applicable.

• Interpret engineering markups, specifications, and project scopes to generate accurate and coordinated designs.

• Work closely with mechanical engineers and civil/structural designers to ensure coordination across disciplines.

• Ensure all drawings comply with client specifications, international standards (e.g., ASME, AWWA, SMACNA, ISO), and project QA/QC requirements.

• Produce and maintain documentation such as drawing registers, BoMs, and revision histories.

• Support shop drawing preparation and coordinate with site teams during fabrication and installation stages.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Education:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Experience:

• 10+ years in mechanical design, preferably within water, wastewater, or infrastructure sectors.

• Proven experience in producing drawings for:

o Sewage pump stations (wet/dry well layout, pump piping, base frames)

o Water transmission pipelines (including valve chambers, air valves, and drain arrangements)

o Flow meter chambers, non-return valves, sluice valves, etc.

o HVAC layouts for mechanical rooms, including ducting and support structures.

o Pipe supports and anchor blocks with coordination for civil interfaces.

Software Proficiency:

• AutoCAD (2D and 3D) – Essential

• Autodesk Revit – Advantageous

• Navisworks, Plant 3D, – Preferred

• MS Office (Excel, Word)

Other Skills:

• Ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical schematics, and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with MEP coordination and clash resolution practices.

• Strong attention to detail, organized, and capable of working under pressure and deadlines.

• Good communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
