Role Overview:
The Firefighting Site Engineer will be responsible for supervising, executing, and ensuring proper installation, testing, and commissioning of firefighting systems including sprinkler systems, hydrants, fire pumps, and related mechanical components. The engineer must ensure compliance with NFPA, SBC, Aramco, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and execute installation of firefighting systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, and related mechanical piping.
- Review IFC drawings, coordination drawings, and shop drawings; report discrepancies and propose solutions.
- Ensure installation works comply with NFPA, SBC, Aramco standards, and project requirements.
- Prepare and submit IRs, MIRs, method statements, ITPs, and required site documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and other site teams for inspections and approvals.
- Monitor daily site activities, manpower, progress, and material requirements.
- Conduct pressure testing, hydrostatic testing, flow testing, and pump room commissioning.
- Assist with integration of firefighting systems with Fire Alarm interfaces (if applicable).
- Ensure site safety compliance and enforce HSE guidelines for firefighting works.
- Ensure closing NCRs, punch points, and ensuring quality-based completion.
- Participate in final testing, commissioning, and handover documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3–7 years of experience in firefighting system installation and commissioning.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20, NFPA 24, and relevant mechanical codes.
Experience with Aramco or industrial/housing projects preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Saudi Driving License
Nationality: Any National but Pakistani preferred
Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical understanding of firefighting systems.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage site teams and subcontractors.
Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (basic review), and reporting.
