We at Offshore Fabrication Company OFC are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Planning Engineer to join our fabrication yard team in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have 5–6 years of hands-on planning and scheduling experience specifically in fabrication yards or heavy industrial environments, including steel structures, pressure vessels, tanks, piping spools, or similar fabrication activities. You will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, controlling, and reporting on production schedules to ensure timely delivery and optimal utilization of resources.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production and project schedules using industry-standard tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Coordinate with fabrication, engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and workshop teams to collect data and update schedules.
Track fabrication activities including cutting, welding, assembly, testing, NDT, and finishing against planned timelines.
Prepare and present regular progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly), schedule forecasts, and KPI dashboards to management.
Identify scheduling risks, bottlenecks, and potential delays; propose mitigation and recovery plans.
Support resource planning including manpower, materials, and equipment loading to ensure smooth workflow.
Assist in preparing baseline programs, updating schedule revisions for change orders, and participating in planning meetings.
Collaborate with ERP/MRP teams to integrate planning data where applicable (e.g., SAP/Oracle).
Ensure documentation and records of scheduling activities are maintained according to company policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or related Engineering field.
5–6 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in a fabrication yard or heavy industrial setting (fabrication of equipment, static equipment, piping, structures).
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project; advanced skills in MS Excel.
Experience with project control tools and reporting systems.
Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written); Arabic is a plus.
Knowledge of fabrication processes and scheduling constraints in heavy industrial yards.
Familiarity with quality systems (ISO/API) and safety standards is advantageous.
