Job description

Fadras Group is a specialized leader in manufacturing and installing architectural expansion joint systems and parking safety solutions. We are seeking a highly disciplined Site Engineer to report directly to the Technical Engineer.

The successful candidate will not just supervise labor; they will act as a technical extension of the management team on-site, handling all engineering documentation (MOS, ITP), quantity verification, and strict quality control for high-precision installations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Documentation & QA/QC Management

Method Statements (MOS): Draft and customize site-specific Method Statements for expansion joints (floor, wall, ceiling, roof) and parking accessories, ensuring compliance with project specs and manufacturer guidelines.

ITP & Checklists: Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and manage the "Hold Points" for critical activities (e.g., substrate verification, epoxy bedding application, water barrier testing).

Risk Assessments: Create and enforce Risk Assessment (RA) sheets for drilling, chemical handling, and working at heights.

Inspections: Raise Work Inspection Requests (WIR) and handle site walkthroughs with Consultants to secure approvals without comments.

2. Site Execution & Installation Supervision

Expansion Joints: Supervise the end-to-end installation of surface-mounted and recessed expansion joint systems, ensuring flush alignment with architectural finishes.

Parking Accessories: Manage the fixation of speed humps, corner guards, and wheel stops, ensuring correct anchor selection (mechanical vs. chemical) for the specific substrate.

Standards Compliance: Ensure all works comply with relevant standards (SASO, ASTM E1966, UL 2079) as per company protocols.

3. Quantity Surveying (QS) & Material Control

Estimation: Perform accurate quantity take-offs from shop drawings for installation planning.

Reconciliation: Monitor material usage daily to prevent wastage of high-value items (aluminum profiles, epoxy resins).

Progress Billing: Prepare precise installed quantity reports to support the Technical Engineer in preparing monthly payment certificates and Sales team to issue the progress invoices.

4. Project Management & Reporting

Time Management: Create look-ahead schedules and track daily productivity to ensure handover deadlines are met.

Reporting: Submit daily technical reports to the Technical Engineer, highlighting progress, clashes, or material shortages.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.

Experience: 3–5 years in construction, with at least 2 years specifically in Finishing, Fit-out, or Specialized Architectural Products.

Technical Knowledge:

Must be able to write technical documents (MOS/ITP) independently.

Strong understanding of fixing technologies (anchors, grouts, adhesives).

Ability to read complex Shop Drawings and spot conflicts with actual site conditions.

Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD (for checking levels/details) and MS Excel (for QS/Reporting).

Soft Skills: Strong personality to manage site foremen and professionally represent Fadras Group during Consultant inspections.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Approval Rate: Percentage of WIRs approved on the first attempt.

Documentation: Timely submission of MOS and ITPs before work commences.

Accuracy: Zero material shortages due to calculation errors.
