Job Summary
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by conducting daily site inspections, enforcing safety regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture. The role involves monitoring compliance, conducting toolbox talks, and supporting the implementation of HSE policies across the project.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to workers and site staff
Monitor and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and regulations
Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices at all times
Report, investigate, and document incidents, accidents, and near misses
Coordinate with site teams to implement corrective and preventive actions
Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
Assist in risk assessments, method statements, and safety planning
Ensure compliance with local authority and project safety requirements
Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement on-site
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of HSE standards and regulations (OSHA / local standards preferred)
Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) preferred
Strong observation, reporting, and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment
