Southern Rock (SRC) is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with 4–6 years of experience, preferably within Saudi Arabia/Gulf region, to support engineering, estimation, and execution activities across industrial projects.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on exposure to Shutdowns/Turnarounds (TA), maintenance works, and site-based execution, along with strong technical knowledge and coordination capabilities to ensure successful project delivery in live plant environments.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide technical support and coordination during project phases including estimation, planning, shutdown/TA execution, and commissioning.
•Review and support preparation of technical documents, including method statements, execution plans, proposals, and design submissions.
•Participate in shutdown/turnaround planning, scheduling, and execution activities in coordination with site teams.
•Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Planning) to ensure smooth project execution.
•Perform site surveys, material take-offs (MTO), and estimation support as required.
•Ensure compliance with client specifications, international standards, and project requirements.
•Support project team in resolving technical issues during execution, especially in critical shutdown timelines.
•Prepare and submit technical reports, progress updates, and documentation to stakeholders.
•Assist in monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and ensuring timely completion.
•Promote safe work practices in line with HSE standards, especially during shutdown activities.
Skills & Competencies:
•Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, and structural interfaces.
•Experience in Shutdowns/Turnarounds (TA), maintenance, or brownfield projects is highly preferred.
•Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic engineering software/tools.
•Familiarity with project execution in live industrial plants (SABIC, Aramco, MA’ADEN, etc. preferred).
•Understanding of international standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
•Ability to handle site coordination, problem-solving, and fast-track execution challenges.
•Good knowledge of materials, fabrication, and installation practices.
•Strong communication and teamwork skills.
•Ability to work under pressure, especially during shutdown schedules.
Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•4–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in Saudi Arabia/GCC industrial projects.
•Experience in shutdown/turnaround (TA) projects or plant maintenance is an added advantage.
•Familiarity with SABIC, Saudi Aramco, or similar client standards.
•Proficiency in MS Office and engineering documentation.
