Data Analytics and Visualization Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Data Analytics and Visualization Engineer to join our Engineering Delivery department. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of Business Intelligence and workflow solutions for manufacturing organizations in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemicals industry. As a senior member of the DSV team, you will work as a subject matter expert (SME) alongside cross-functional delivery teams, bridging the gap between raw industrial data and executive decision-making.

What You'll Do

Build a thorough understanding of project data analytics and visualization needs.

Lead the design, build, testing, and deployment of BI solutions to clients.

Perform data availability assessments and implement robust processes for timely identification, collection, and validation of relevant datasets.

Work with client stakeholders to understand business processes and define key metric requirements.

Support the sales team by participating in proposal preparation, estimates, and scoping.

Provide mentorship to engineers and associate engineers on the team.

Evaluate and recommend best-in-class technologies in the BI and data management market.

What You Bring (Qualifications & Requirements)

Education:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

5+ years of relevant, proven experience handling similar responsibilities.

Minimum Technical Requirements:

Category Required Skills/Experience

BI & Visualization Microsoft Power BI, SSRS, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

Data Management Strong knowledge of Data Management Technologies

Large Datasets Highly proficient in manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets (near real-time or event-driven data is a plus)

Industry Domain Strong knowledge of Oil/Gas/Petrochemical domain

Data Pipelines Experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines

Full Lifecycle Experience developing and implementing BI/analytics solutions at scale

Data Orchestration Some experience with Biztalk (or similar orchestration tools)

Data Sources & Architecture Experience with various data sources, database architectures, SQL query authoring, data modeling, analytics, and visualization toolsets

Data Warehousing/Lake Expert knowledge of Data Warehousing/Data Lake technologies (SQL Server, Microsoft Power BI, SSAS)

Analytical & Leadership Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Leadership skills with ability to guide junior engineers

Communication Skills:

Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal)

Preferences (Highly Valued)
