Job Description: Design Engineer – 3D Modeling
Specialization: Process Piping & Skids SolidWorks
Location: Dammam, KSA

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly competent Design Engineer specializing in the 3D modeling of process piping and skid-mounted systems. Utilizing SolidWorks, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing fabrication-driven, constructible, and clash-free designs. This role requires seamless alignment with project specifications, site conditions, and multidisciplinary interfaces, including process, electrical, and automation teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. 3D Modeling & Design Development
* Develop comprehensive 3D models for process piping systems and modular skid packages.
* Design detailed equipment layouts and optimized piping routings.
* Ensure all designs are constructible, maintenance-accessible, and 100% clash-free through internal reviews.
2. Documentation & Deliverables
* Generate high-accuracy General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
* Produce Isometrics, Spool drawings for fabrication, and piping support details.
* Extract and manage precise Bills of Materials (BOM).
* Prepare shop-ready fabrication drawings with complete dimensioning and tolerance.
3. Engineering Support & Coordination
* Support the preparation and updating of PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans, and equipment layouts.
* Coordinate with Process Engineers for line sizing and valve selection.
* Liaise with Electrical & Instrumentation teams for interface points.
* Collaborate with Procurement & Fabrication teams to ensure material specifications are met.
* Develop as-built documentation based on site feedback.
4. Quality & Compliance
* Maintain rigorous drawing registers, revision control, and document management per project QA/QC requirements.
* Participate in design reviews and HAZOP/constructability workshops.
Qualifications & Experience: Criteria Requirement
Education Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience 5+ years in process skid design, modular packages, and industrial piping.
Software Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (Mandatory).
Standards Strong knowledge of piping codes and skid modularization philosophy.
