PLANNING ENGINEER / PLANNER – EPC PROJECT

Position Overview

Gulfaar Group is looking for an experienced Planning Engineer / Planner to support an EPC project for the Master Gas Expansion Project (MGEP). The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting project activities to ensure timely execution in accordance with approved project schedules, milestones, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and update detailed EPC project schedules using Primavera P6.

Prepare baseline schedules, detailed execution schedules, look-ahead schedules, and recovery schedules.

Monitor actual progress against planned progress and identify delays, critical activities, and schedule deviations.

Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, HSE, Commissioning, and Project Management teams to obtain accurate progress information.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and schedule updates.

Analyze project performance, including planned vs. actual progress, productivity, manpower, and resource utilization.

Identify critical path activities and potential schedule risks and recommend mitigation/recovery measures.

Prepare and maintain 2-week / 3-week / 4-week look-ahead schedules as required.

Review subcontractor schedules and progress updates and ensure alignment with the approved project schedule.

Track engineering deliverables, material procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Prepare progress measurement and S-Curves / progress curves.

Support preparation of delay analysis, schedule impact assessments, and time-extension documentation when required.

Attend project progress meetings with the client, EPC contractor, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

Ensure planning activities comply with project procedures and Saudi Aramco / EPC client requirements.

Maintain proper planning records, reports, and supporting documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

5–10 years of relevant experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, Pipeline, or large-scale industrial projects.

Strong experience in Primavera P6 is mandatory.

Experience in planning and scheduling of EPC projects, preferably Oil & Gas / Pipeline projects.

Saudi Aramco project experience is highly preferred.

Good understanding of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Project Closeout activities.

Strong knowledge of project planning, progress measurement, schedule control, and reporting.

Experience with S-Curves, manpower/resource histograms, critical path analysis, and recovery schedules.

Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and reporting skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with Saudi Aramco-approved / previously approved experience, EPC contractor experience, and immediate or short-notice availability will be given preference.
