Job description

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer specialized in Equipment and PMV to oversee the operation, maintenance, inspection, and management of heavy construction equipment, machinery, and vehicles used in road, bridge, and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, spare parts management, and equipment performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and supervise the maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment, machinery, and vehicles.

Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.

Diagnose mechanical faults and coordinate troubleshooting and repair activities.

Monitor the operational performance, availability, and reliability of all PMV assets.

Coordinate with workshops, equipment operators, suppliers, and service providers.

Manage spare parts requirements, technical specifications, inventory, and procurement coordination.

Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.

Maintain accurate records of equipment utilization, maintenance history, fuel consumption, and repair costs.

Monitor equipment maintenance budgets and identify opportunities to reduce operational costs.

Coordinate equipment mobilization, demobilization, and allocation across construction projects.

Prepare periodic technical reports on equipment condition, maintenance activities, and fleet performance.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in equipment management, heavy machinery maintenance, or PMV operations within the construction or infrastructure sector.

Strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers, graders, backhoe loaders, dump trucks, water tankers, cranes, generators, and other construction machinery.

Experience in preventive maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, equipment inspections, and workshop operations.

Knowledge of spare parts identification, technical specifications, and equipment maintenance planning.

Strong skills in reporting, documentation, and equipment cost control.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and equipment maintenance management systems.

Good English communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multiple project teams.

Preferred Skills

Experience with road construction, bridges, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Familiarity with equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, Mercedes-Benz, and other major heavy-equipment manufacturers.

Experience in fleet management, equipment utilization analysis, and maintenance KPI monitoring.

Knowledge of Saudi Arabia's construction industry requirements and equipment safety standards.
