Job description

A cold storage supervisor's key responsibilities include enforcing contract requirements, ensuring compliance with SFDA regulations, managing receiving and stocking, and providing training on equipment safety and allergens.

Cold Storage / Warehouse Manager Job Purpose: Provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving,

warehousing, and distribution services; supervising staff.

Receiving

? Supervise receipt of all shipments. Process receiving, discrepancy, and damage reports as needed.

? Move inventory to various locations of warehouse by co ordinating with asst Ware house manager with

mechanical equipment operators which includes fork lift, pallet jack, and handcart.

? Load and unload delivery truck under his supervision.

? Assume responsibility for delivery of all items received by warehouse to proper location on a daily basis.

? Evaluate complaints received on shipments of equipment and supplies and take appropriate action.

Inventory

? Supervise warehousing and storage of all supplies as well as equipment,

? Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.

Personnel

? Supervise, evaluate, and train employees assigned to warehouse.

Safety

? Direct and maintain a safety program for all employees assigned to warehouse.

? Initiate and maintain proper and necessary safety and fire prevention equipment within warehouse as prescribed

by law and company policy.

? Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.

? Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.

? Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor

immediately.

Budgetary Control.

? Participate in budget development and exercise budgetary control over warehouse operations.

Other Duties as Assigned

? Other duties could include working in other areas of the maintenance department to provide support during

absences or shortage of staff.

? Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their

normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Facility Services Department.

? Take inventories as required. Report and clear indications of “out of stock” or “overstocked” conditions

developing.

? Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing rule ; inspecting equipment; issuing

work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement

Supervisory Responsibilities:

? Supervise and evaluate warehouse worker(s).

? Supervise Maintenance team and follow up of work.

Equipment Used:

? Compressor, Refrigeration system , Computer, ladder, dolly, scaffolding, fork lift, pallet jack, and

small hand tools.

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

? Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing; Supervise heavy lifting and carrying by equipement.

Bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving

parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; exposure to dampness humidity where temperature

is maintined -18 to +5 ; Work on ladders and scaffolding; exposure to slippery and uneven

surfaces.
