Job Summary

The Construction Project Planning Engineer will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The role involves developing project plans, coordinating with various stakeholders, and managing progress reports to ensure efficient execution and successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Scheduling:

o Develop and manage detailed project plans and schedules, outlining the key deliverables, milestones, and timelines.

o Use project management software (such as Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.) to create and update project schedules.

o Identify critical project paths and resolve any scheduling conflicts to keep projects on track.

• Monitoring & Reporting:

o Monitor the progress of construction activities and ensure the project stays within scope, schedule, and budget.

o Prepare and present detailed progress reports, including weekly, monthly, and milestone reports to project management and stakeholders.

o Evaluate potential delays or changes in scope and recommend corrective actions to prevent project disruptions.

• Coordination & Stakeholder Management:

o Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure all activities are aligned with the project plan.

o Collaborate with site supervisors to track the status of daily activities and report any discrepancies or delays.

o Ensure that project requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards are adhered to during execution.

• Resource Management:

o Coordinate the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure timely project delivery.

o Optimize resource use to reduce waste and maximize efficiency during construction phases.

• Risk Management:

o Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on cost and schedule.

o Proactively manage changes to the project scope, timelines, and resources, ensuring all changes are documented and communicated effectively.

• Document Control & Compliance:

o Ensure that all project documentation, including permits, approvals, and contracts, is accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

o Maintain records of project progress, changes, and key decisions to ensure full project accountability.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

• Experience:

o At least 5 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling, with a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects.

o Experience using project management and scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).

• Skills:

o Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management, and scheduling techniques.

o Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

o Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

o Familiarity with project cost management and budgeting.

o Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction projects.
