Job Description: Project Engineer (E&I) – Saudi Arabia
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation) with 8 to 10 years of experience in delivering Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) projects in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful project execution, expertise in cost estimation, and a deep understanding of the KSA project landscape, including local regulations, standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution: Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of E&I projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and scope while adhering to quality and safety standards.
Cost Estimation and Control: Develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for E&I projects. Monitor and control project costs to ensure profitability and alignment with client requirements.
Technical Expertise: Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with Saudi Aramco, SEC, or other relevant standards.
Project Planning and Coordination: Prepare and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and risk assessments. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project delivery.
Client and Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction. Liaise with regulatory bodies and local authorities as needed.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all E&I project activities comply with KSA regulations, industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE), and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed project reports, technical documentation, and as-built drawings. Maintain accurate records of project progress, costs, and deliverables.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree / Diploma/ITI in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 8–10 years of hands-on experience in E&I project engineering, with at least 5 years in Saudi Arabia, working on oil & gas, petrochemical, or power projects.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in E&I system design, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation (e.g., PLC, DCS, SCADA).
Strong knowledge of cost estimation tools and techniques (e.g., BOQ preparation, cost benchmarking).
Familiarity with SCECO,Saudi Aramco standards, SABIC specifications, and other KSA-specific codes and regulations.
Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex E&I projects from initiation to closeout, with a focus on successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
Leadership skills to guide teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
Certifications (preferred): PMP, CAPM, or other relevant project management certifications. Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies is a plus.
Language: Fluency in English; Basic Arabic is an advantage.
Additional Requirements
Local Expertise: In-depth understanding of the Saudi Arabian market, including local vendor networks, labor regulations, and cultural nuances.
Travel: Willingness to travel within KSA and work on-site as required.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
