Position: Mechanical QA/QC Engineer

A. Role Summary
The Mechanical QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical works, installations, and materials meet project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves overseeing quality control activities, conducting inspections, preparing documentation, and liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
B. Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Control and Assurance
Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
Conduct inspections for mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, piping, and equipment installation.
Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications and international codes such as ASME, ASTM, and ISO.
Ensure calibration and certification of measuring and testing instruments are up to date.
2. Documentation and Reporting
Prepare and maintain QA/QC reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans.
Maintain records of inspections, tests, material approvals, and as-built documentation.
Assist in preparing QA/QC dossiers for project handover.
3. Coordination and Compliance
Coordinate with consultants, third-party inspectors, and clients for inspections and approvals.
Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, including Saudi building codes and safety standards.
Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to quality standards.
4. Continuous Improvement
Support in internal and external audits.
Recommend corrective and preventive measures for quality issues.
Provide technical support to the site team for resolving quality-related concerns.
C. Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 6 years of experience in QA/QC within mechanical works, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or MEP projects.
Strong knowledge of international codes and standards including ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME, ASTM, and ISO.
Experience with QA/QC documentation, method statements, ITPs, and material submittals.
Familiarity with Saudi Aramco or SABIC standards is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office and QA/QC management tools.
Strong communication and reporting skills in English. Arabic is an advantage.
