Position Title: Civil Foreman / Civil Team Leader

Job Summary:

A Civil Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating civil construction activities at project sites. The role ensures that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications, drawings, schedules, and quality standards. The Civil Foreman manages workers, materials, equipment, and daily site operations while reporting progress to the Site Engineer or Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision

Supervise and lead civil construction crews and subcontractors on-site.

Allocate daily tasks and monitor workforce productivity.

Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

Coordinate activities with engineers, surveyors, and other disciplines.

Construction Activities

Oversee and execute civil works, including:

Excavation and earthworks

Foundations and concrete works

Reinforcement and formwork activities

Building construction works

Roads and paving works

Drainage and utility installations

Finishing and external works

Quality Control

Ensure all work complies with project specifications and quality requirements.

Conduct site inspections and identify defects for corrective action.

Verify materials before use and ensure proper workmanship standards.

Safety Management

Enforce company HSE policies and procedures.

Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Ensure workers use proper PPE at all times.

Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.

Resource Management

Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment requirements.

Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.

Request materials and equipment in advance to avoid delays.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain daily progress reports and manpower records.

Report work progress, delays, and challenges to management.

Keep records of completed activities and site instructions.

Qualifications:

Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction.

5–10 years of experience in civil construction projects.

Previous experience as a Civil Foreman in building, infrastructure, industrial, or large-scale projects.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with construction safety regulations.
