Planning Engineer

Job Summary

AIPC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our Project Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules using Primavera P6, tracking project progress, analyzing delays, and supporting project managers in achieving project milestones on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare baseline project schedules using Primavera P6.

• Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project execution plans.

• Update project schedules based on site progress and approved changes.

• Monitor project performance against the approved baseline schedule.

• Identify schedule risks, delays, and critical path activities.

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and S-curves.

• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance.

• Assist in preparing recovery plans and mitigation strategies for delayed activities.

• Participate in project meetings and provide schedule updates.

• Support tender planning by preparing preliminary construction schedules.

• Monitor resource allocation and productivity where required.

• Maintain accurate planning records and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 2–3 years of experience in construction project planning and scheduling.

• Experience in fit-out, commercial, automotive facilities, or building projects is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Excellent knowledge of Primavera P6 (mandatory).

• Good understanding of project management principles.

• Familiarity with construction sequencing and methodologies.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Project (preferred).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.

• Familiarity with Power BI or dashboard reporting is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Languages

• English: Professional proficiency (written and spoken).

• Arabic: Preferred.

Preferred Certifications

• Primavera P6 Professional Certification (preferred).

• PMP or CAPM certification is an advantage.
