-Lead and supervise the MEP drafting team, assigning drawing tasks and monitoring workload, priorities, and submission deadlines.
-Plan and coordinate the preparation of MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, builders' work drawings, sections, details, and as-built drawings.
-Review and quality-check all drawings prepared by the drafting team before submission to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and professional presentation.
-Verify drawings against approved design drawings, project specifications, BOQ, equipment schedules, material submittals, and relevant project requirements.
-Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies, service clashes, routing conflicts, space constraints, and constructability issues in coordination with the responsible MEP engineers.
-Establish and enforce CAD/BIM drafting standards, including templates, layers, naming conventions, drawing numbering, annotation, dimensions, revision control, and drawing presentation.
-Ensure drawings provide sufficient installation details, dimensions, levels, sections, access requirements, and equipment maintenance clearances for site execution.
-Review consultant/client comments and coordinate the timely revision and resubmission of drawings, ensuring that all comments are properly addressed before resubmission.
-Maintain a drawing review and quality-control process, including internal checking records, drawing status, revisions, and submission tracking.
-Coordinate closely with MEP engineers, BIM coordinators, site engineers, subcontractors, and other disciplines to ensure drawings reflect coordinated and approved technical solutions.
-Monitor drafting progress against the project drawing schedule and proactively identify potential delays or resource requirements.
-Coordinate with site teams to incorporate approved RFIs, site modifications, consultant instructions, and actual installation conditions into revised and as-built drawings.
-Act as the final drafting quality-control focal point before client/consultant submission, while ensuring that engineering and design changes requiring technical approval are reviewed and -authorized by the responsible engineer.
