Joule Arabia Contracting Company is hiring Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer – Duties & Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical testing and commissioning activities for LV, MV, and HV systems.
* Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), specifications, and commissioning procedures.
* Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning tests on transformers, switchgear, RMUs, MCCs, protection relays, cables, and associated equipment.
* Conduct electrical tests including insulation resistance (IR), continuity, contact resistance, primary/secondary injection, relay testing, VLF, Tan Delta, and cable fault testing where applicable.
* Configure, test, and troubleshoot protection relays and control systems.
* Verify wiring, interlocks, control logic, and SCADA/automation interfaces.
* Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and construction teams to ensure successful commissioning.
* Prepare commissioning procedures, method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and test reports.
* Ensure all testing activities comply with project specifications, IEC/IEEE standards, and client requirements.
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical system issues during testing and commissioning.
* Ensure all safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and LOTO requirements are strictly followed.
* Maintain commissioning records, punch lists, and as-built documentation.
* Support energization activities and final project handover.
* Provide technical guidance to technicians and commissioning staff.
* Attend project meetings and submit daily, weekly, and final commissioning progress reports.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
* 3–8 years of experience in electrical testing and commissioning of substations, industrial plants, or power projects.
* Experience with protection relay testing (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Schneider, GE, SEL).
* Familiarity with testing equipment such as Omicron, Megger, DV Power, and similar instruments.
* Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and utility standards (e.g., Saudi Electricity Company/Aramco requirements is an advantage).
* Strong troubleshooting, communication, and reporting skills.
* Valid driving license is preferred.
